Arcos de la Frontera Free Tour
Tour Details
At the time of your choice, we’ll meet in Plaza de España to begin a walking tour of the old town of Arcos de la Frontera. Are you ready to discover this town in Cádiz?
We’ll first head to the Holy Week monument, where we’ll talk about the important role this celebration plays in the town. Did you know it’s been declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest? Not far from this sculptural group, we’ll find the Church of San Juan de Dios, whose origins date back to the 16th century, and the Palace of the Count of Águila.
The free tour will then take us to Plaza del Cabildo. Here, we’ll see some of the most emblematic buildings in Arcos de la Frontera: the Minor Basilica of Santa María de la Asunción, the Parador, and the castle. In this square, there’s also a spectacular viewpoint, the Peña Nueva balcony. The views of the Guadalete River and the Cádiz countryside will stay with you!
The next stop will be at the so-called Magic Circle, a place linked to Islamic culture that will introduce us to the more enigmatic side of Arcos de la Frontera.
We’ll see the exterior of the Convent of the Discalced Mercedarian Nuns and, after 2 hours of the tour, we’ll finish at the San Pedro viewpoint.
