Kanchanaburi 2-Day Trip
Activity Details
Day 1
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at the Century Park Hotel Ratchaprarop to depart for Kanchanaburi province, located 128 km (80 miles) west of Bangkok.
Once there, we’ll visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, an interactive museum and research and information center dedicated to the history of the Thailand-Burma Railway. It’s sure to move you!
Next, we’ll head to the famous Bridge over the River Kwai, part of the Death Railway built by Allied POWs. We’ll then reach Saphan Kwae Yai Station, Ban Tai, where we’ll board a historic train of the Death Railway that crosses the original wooden viaducts built by Allied POWs.
We’ll arrive at Krasae Cave Station and walk along the wooden bridge built by the POWs. After that, we’ll continue to the Raft Resort, check in, and enjoy a light lunch. After some well-deserved relaxation, you’ll have the chance to try bamboo rafting before dinner and rest for the night.
Day 2
After a delicious breakfast, we’ll begin a day full of adventures. Our first stop will be the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre, where you’ll delve into the history of the Burma-Thailand Railway through chronological and thematic exhibits explaining the reasons for its construction and the challenges faced by the workers. For a more immersive experience, we’ll go down the steps behind the museum to follow the Hellfire Pass Memorial Trail, which runs along the original railway route.
Later, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you can taste authentic regional flavors. Afterward, we’ll explore the ancient history of Prasat Muang Sing Park, home to the remains of very old temples and architectural structures from past civilizations. It’s undoubtedly a magical place full of secrets waiting to be uncovered!
Filled with emotions and lasting memories, it will then be time to return to Bangkok.
