Great Wall of China Badaling Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at Exit C of Beitucheng metro station, where we’ll board the vehicle and head toward one of the most famous sections of the Great Wall of China: Badaling. Let’s get started!
During the approximately 1.5-hour journey, we’ll share interesting facts to prepare you for this encounter with one of the world’s most iconic monuments. Did you know Badaling was the first section of the Great Wall to open to tourism, back in 1957? Upon arrival, you’ll quickly see why it’s considered the best-preserved section of the wall.
Once there, you’ll have between 3 and 4 hours of free time to explore Badaling at your own pace. You’ll be able to walk among perfectly restored watchtowers, whose brick arches reveal the military engineering of the Ming dynasty. From the battlements, you’ll admire rolling landscapes that seem endless, as the wall blends into the surrounding mountains.
You can explore the steeper sections, where the uneven steps reflect the harsh terrain and the determination of the soldiers who once guarded the empire. Don’t miss the chance to observe the double walls, steep ramps, and panoramic viewpoints that highlight Badaling’s strategic importance.
Finally, we’ll meet again to begin the return journey to the original meeting point in Beijing, where we’ll say goodbye after a total of around 10 hours.
