Brno Myths & Legends Free Tour
Tour Details
After meeting in Liberty Square at the indicated time, we'll begin our free walking tour of Brno. Get ready to take a deep dive into the storied past of the Czech Republic's second-largest city!
Our journey begins at the Old Town Hall, where we'll discover the legend of the wheel and the mythical dragon that decorates the roof. From here, we'll head to Dominican Square, another historic landmark with its own fascinating history.
Next up, we'll walk to Špilberk Castle, a former prison that housed Europe's most elusive prisoners. Then, we'll head to the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, an iconic Brno sight, where we'll discover the intriguing legend behind why the city strikes noon at 11 am instead of 12 pm.
Continuing on, we'll visit Zelňák, the Vegetable Market, one of the oldest medieval markets in the city. What dark secret is lurking just beneath its surface? We'll find out! Then, we'll head over to the Monastery of Capuchinos home to naturally mummified monks and a chilling past.
Finally, we'll visit Saint James Church, a gem of Gothic architecture that houses the second-largest ossuary in Europe. Then, we'll head to Moravia Square, where we'll bring our experience to an end after an insightful 1.5 hours. See you next time!
