Formula 1 focuses on the hills of Mogyoród and turns the asphalt of the Hungaroring into adrenaline running at 300 km/h (186 mph). Welcome to the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix, an event where strategy weighs more heavily than the right foot on the accelerator on the racetrack.
With a length of 4.381 km (2.72 mi), the Hungaroring track is synonymous with high downforce and virtually no margin for error. The 14 corners will leave no room for error and will force the cars to maintain constant balance. In addition, it has a second sector where low-speed traction and tire thermal management make all the difference.
The weekend from July 24-26 will kick off with free practice, where teams will work on setups aimed at maximizing downforce and minimizing wear. Overtaking at the Hungaroring is no easy task, as the main straight and the braking zone at Turn 1 will be the main attack points. Meanwhile, Turn 4 will test the stability of the front axle under prolonged lateral load.
Qualifying will be a surgical exercise, where a mistake in the chicane in the third sector or a poor exit from the last corner could cost several positions on the grid. What's more, starting from the back here means getting stuck in an endless DRS train. These will be decisive moments!
The final race on Sunday will be contested over the classic 70 laps, covering a total distance of 306.63 km (190.5 mi). It'll be a tactical battle between undercuts and graining management on the front left axle.
