Emerald Tour of Cartagena
Emerald Tour of Cartagena
We'll meet at your chosen time at the Camellón de los Mártires to start our Emerald Tour of Cartagena de Indias. Did you know that one of the most important trades of this precious mineral is located in Colombia?
First of all, we'll go to an emerald workshop, where the expert jewellers will show us the art of carving using traditional techniques. We'll learn how emerald jewellery is made and many other interesting details about its production.
After the visit to the factory, we'll visit the Emerald Museum. Through its different rooms, we'll learn about the origins of the Colombian emerald trade as well as learning to distinguish the different types of the gem by their colour, brightness and transparency - there are up to 27 different shades of green!
Not only that, but in this exhibition you'll also have the opportunity to see the famous Fuego Verde emerald up close, a precious gem of great value.
After a 3-hour tour, we'll say goodbye at the exit of the museum.
