Getsemaní Tour + Champeta Class
Activity Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Camellón de los Mártires and begin this tour of the Getsemaní neighborhood in Cartagena de Indias, which we'll complete with a champeta dancing class!
First, we'll head to Centennial Park, which was built to commemorate the centennial of Colombia's independence. We'll explore its green areas and see the animals that live here, such as squirrels, iguanas, and even sloths. Then, from here, we'll walk along Paco Street under its characteristic colorful umbrellas.
To get our strength back, we'll stop at a bar in Getsemaní for a tasting of craft beers. Cheers! Next, we'll go up Guerrero St to admire the colonial architecture of the neighborhood. Then, we'll reach the Plaza de la Trinidad, a meeting point for artists from all over the world.
We'll admire the church that presides over the square and hear about the heroic acts that took place here during the country's fight for independence. The next stop will be at the Calle de las Banderas (Flag St), where we'll see the numerous graffiti that decorate its walls.
To finish the tour, we'll attend a 30-minute champeta cartagenera class, one of the most famous and practiced dances in the city!
After the champeta class, we'll end the tour and say goodbye after 2.5 hours of activity.
