Description

If you're spending a holiday in Cartagena de Indias and would like to enjoy the surroundings with an English-speaking guide at your disposal, you can book any of our private excursions. These tours include hotel pickup and return transfer and last between 5 and 15 hours.

Below you can see the details for each day trip:

Excursion to Tayrona Park (15 hours)

After picking you up at 4:30 am, we'll start an excursion to Tayrona Park, a unique natural jewel in Colombia. Once there, we'll take you to the Arrecife sector. This area is considered a sanctuary of algae and marine biodiversity. Do you fancy a dip?

The tour will continue to Cape San Juan, where we'll admire the environment surrounded by palm trees and dense vegetation. There you'll have free time for lunch, remember that this is a fresh fish area! You'll be able to stroll, snorkel and discover the beauty of the Caribbean waters until 4:30 pm.

The itinerary of this tour is similar to that of the Tayrona National Park Trip.

Excursion to San Basilio del Palenque (5 hours)

We'll pick you up at 8:30 am and set off on an excursion to the African village of San Basilio del Palenque, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

We'll walk through the narrow streets of this village discovering its Creole language, the food, and Afro-Colombian dances such as the mapalé. 'Its great diversity is due to the fact that it was the first town in colonial America to be free of African slaves.

Do you know the story of the rebellion of the Maroon slaves? In front of the sculpture of Benkos Biohó, the king of the free people, we'll tell you about it.

The route is similar to the San Basilio del Palenque day trip

Excursion to Totumo Volcano (6 hours)

We'll leave Cartagena de Indias at 8:30 am and travel to a treasure in the north of Colombia: the Totumo Volcano, a fascinating site! Once there, we'll climb the wooden stairs that will take us up to the crater. Are you ready for a dip in the mud? We'll be entering the dense waters as we relax in this beneficial concoction for our bodies.

After the mud bath, we'll go down to the foot of the volcano to have the locals help us remove the dried remains on our skin with the help of pressurized water. Then, the tour will continue to the coastal village of Manzanillo for lunch on your own.

We'll follow a route similar to the Totumo Volcano Day Trip.

Excursion to Rosario Islands + Cholón & Playa Tranquila (12 hours)

Crystal clear waters, paradisiacal beaches, and colorful fish are the protagonists of this excursion to the Rosario Islands, a comprehensive tour of this archipelago in the Colombian Caribbean. During the tour, we'll visit several of these charming oases.

We'll first go by minibus to the Baru Peninsula, which belongs to Corales del Rosario National Natural Park. Here, we'll switch vehicles and board a boat to go to Isla Grande, the main island of the Rosario archipelago, where we'll admire its mangroves and drop anchor to go snorkeling.

We'll also visit Isla Cholón, very close to the Rosario Islands. Here, we'll enjoy a shrimp cocktail while admiring all its beauty, and then we'll visit Playa Tranquila, a beach where you'll have free time to sunbathe and swim. Before we take you back to your hotel, you'll also enjoy a delicious lunch (included). The menu will consist of a main course with a side dish.

This tour combines the best of the Rosario Islands Excursion, the Playa Tranquila Day Trip, the Bioluminescent Bay Tour, and the Isla Cholón Day Trip.

Excursion to Rosario Islands + Bioluminescent Plankton (14 hours)

If you select this option, we'll participate in a tour similar to the previous one, but instead of visiting Cholón and Playa Tranquila, we'll focus on the Rosario Islands and admire the fascinating phenomenon of bioluminescent plankton. You'll be left speechless! The excursion also includes snorkeling equipment and lunch.

This tour combines the best of the Rosario Islands Excursion and the Bioluminescent Bay Tour.
