Cartagena Turban Workshop
Activity Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Plaza de la Trinidad, in the heart of the neighborhood of Getsemaní. From here, we'll walk a few steps to the Calle Lomba, where we'll step inside a cozy space that will greet us with colorful fabrics and unique textures.
We'll begin with an introduction about the cultural heritage of turbans, discovering the importance of the tradition and symbolism that they have had in Cartagena de Indias for centuries. Did you know every style of turban has its own history?
Then, we'll start our practical workshop where you'll learn three different techniques to tie turbans. Every turban has its own style and special charm, and you'll be able to experiment with the fabrics to find the one that best suits your personality.
During this activity, you'll enjoy a seasonal fruit juice that will make the experience even lovelier. Among folds and knots, you'll also learn about the history and tradition that accompany each design, strengthening the connection between art and culture.
Finally, after approximately 1.5 hours, we'll say our goodbyes, and you can take your own turban home. It'll be a piece that you can wear proudly and an unforgettable memory of your trip to Cartagena.
