Day Trip to Imigrante, Estrela, and Colinas
Day Trip to Imigrante, Estrela, & Colinas
At 7 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Caxias do Sul and travel to Imigrante, one of the surrounding towns that we'll visit during this excursion.
Once in Imigrante, we'll begin exploring the local beekeeping practices, one of the most relevant activities of the town. We'll discover all the secrets of the stingless bee breeding carried out by many of the residents. We'll even get to taste some of the products that are produced here.
Next, we'll head to Estrela, where we'll visit the Berwagner still, owned by one of the most prominent families in the city. We'll learn all about the immigration that came to Estrela from Europe in the past centuries.
We'll leave Estrela and head to Colinas to discover the House of Artisans and Colonial Products. This small factory specializes in the production of jams, spices, and handicrafts. Have you worked up an appetite? You'll have an hour of free time to have lunch at a local restaurant.
After eating, we'll return to Imigrante and visit the Horst cactus nursery. Did you know that it's the largest greenhouse of its kind in Latin America? We'll also visit the Boaventura convent, built in the style of Dutch monasteries in the 1940s. Its interior hides a medieval-style chapel that also boasts being the only one of its kind.
Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Caxias do Sul at 7:30 pm.
