Iberá Lagoon Boat Ride + Colonia Carlos Pellegrini Guided Tour
Activity Details
The Iberá Wetlands National Park, in the province of Corrientes, is home to the second-largest wetland in the world. Would you like to discover its incredible biodiversity? To do so, we’ll meet at the reception of Nande Reta Lodge.
From this hotel in Colonia Carlos Pellegrini, recognized by the UN as one of the best tourist villages in the world, we’ll travel by off-roading vehicle to a nearby dock. Once at the pier, we’ll begin a boat ride across Iberá Lagoon, one of the main areas of the national park.
During the 2-hour boat ride, we’ll try to spot different native animals of the Iberá Wetlands from the boat, such as caimans, marsh deer, capybaras, and more than 350 species of birds.
At the end of the boat ride, we’ll return to Nande Reta Lodge to enjoy a delicious traditional lunch that includes a starter, a main course, and a dessert. A perfect opportunity to discover the local gastronomy!
After lunch, we’ll begin a 2-hour walking tour of Colonia Carlos Pellegrini. During this tour, we’ll see the typical ranch houses of the province of Corrientes, have the chance to chat with the local residents, and learn about the history of this place. We’ll also discover some trails and viewpoints in the Iberá Wetlands.
Finally, we’ll return to the meeting point, where this 6-hour activity will come to an end.
