Day 1: Djerba - Chott El Jerid - Tozeur
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Djerba or at the airport, whichever you prefer, and drive to the island’s port. There, we'll take a ferry to Jorf, a journey that will take about 30 minutes.
Once we dock, we’ll embark on a 1-hour drive to Chott El Jerid, the largest salt lake in North Africa. We’ll stop to take photos at this amazing site, famous for its vast white landscapes and mirages.
Next, we’ll continue our journey to the mountain oasis of Chebika, an ancient Berber village surrounded by palm trees, canyons, and desert landscapes. We’ll see its incredible natural spring, where you’ll have about 1 hour of free time. Then, we’ll head to a local restaurant to recharge with a traditional Tunisian lunch.
After lunch, we’ll head to a hotel in Tozeur, the capital of the oasis region. You’ll have the rest of the afternoon free to relax at the hotel, where dinner is included.
Day 2: Tozeur - Douz - Matmata - Toujane - Djerba
We’ll have breakfast at the hotel, followed by a guided tour of Tozeur to explore its unique brick architecture and lively souks. Afterward, we’ll travel for about 2 hours to Douz, considered the gateway to the Sahara.
In this town, you’ll have 1 hour of free time to enjoy an optional activity, such as a camel ride or a quad bike tour through the desert. Afterward, we’ll have lunch at a restaurant in Douz.
After lunch, we’ll drive for 1 hour to Tamazret. From there, we’ll continue to Matmata, known for its traditional cave dwellings.
We’ll make our final stop in Toujane, a charming mountain village that will captivate you instantly. From there, we’ll head to the port of Jorf to take the ferry back to Djerba.
We’ll dock at the pier and take you back to your hotel in Djerba or to the island’s airport, whichever you prefer. Arrival is scheduled between 5 pm and 6 pm.
