Did you know the north of Qatar is an area filled with tradition, historic places, and unique natural landscapes? If you want to see it for yourself, at the designated time, we'll pick you up at the pickup point in Doha that you selected and begin this private day trip to northern Qatar.
First, we'll head to the coastal city of Al Khor, about 45 minutes from Doha. Once we arrive, we'll embark on a 20-minute tour to discover one of the largest cities in Qatar, where the fishing and oil industry has marked a before and after. We'll visit its port and enjoy the views where the dhows, traditional wooden boats that will tell us the maritime history of Al Khor, take center stage.
Then, we'll set off to Purple Island, about 20 minutes away. Here, we'll explore a beautiful natural landscape where the exotic species of flora and fauna find a unique place to live. This island has various mangroves and lush vegetation that stand out among the Qatari scenery.
Once we finish this 20-minute walking tour, we'll return to the minibus to reach the Baladana Farm, 30 minutes away. At this farm, we'll embark on a 30-minute guided tour where we'll learn all about milk production, as well as how the animals and natural environment are looked after.
To wrap up this day trip to the north of Qatar, we'll visit Umm Salal Mohammed, home to the Barzan Towers, built in the 19th century to surveil the boats that would reach the city. We'll also explore the town to see the secrets hidden within its traditional buildings and the military strategies that made this town one of the most important in Qatar's history.
Finally, we'll return to Doha and conclude this 4-hour private tour.
