Day Trip Details

At 7:30 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Douala and set off west toward Limbeon the volcanic coast of Cameroon.

After 2 hours of traveling, we'll reach this seaside city surrounded by large palm trees and rubber plantations. Once we arrive, we'll see how the huts of the workers and descendants of former slaves who lived in the town in the past are maintained.

To learn about the city's history, we'll reach the Bimbia Slave Trade Site, a monument commemorating the slave tribes of Cameroon who lived here. We'll continue discovering Limbe by visiting its botanical garden. Created by Germans, this garden is home to over 1500 species of plants and trees. Did you know it's one of the three most important botanical gardens in the world?

We'll also discover the remains of the last eruption of Mount Cameroon. We'll stroll among the vast vegetation of the area and admire the immense and winding volcanic lava flow left behind after the 1999 eruption.

Hungry? We'll stop at a local restaurant where we'll enjoy a delicious lunch. Lastly, we'll reach the beaches of Limbe so you can take a dip before returning to Douala.

The day trip will end at your hotel at approximately 3:30 pm.
