Hiking Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at Trapiche Ponto 3, in Canto dos Araçás, on the shores of the lake of Lagoa da Conceição. After providing safety instructions and an introduction to the area's history and geography, we'll begin our hike along the famous trail of Costa da Lagoa.

This hiking route of about 4.34 mi (7 km) crosses the lush vegetation of the Atlantic Forest. Along the way, we'll make several stops to discover up close the rich endemic flora and fauna. We'll also tell you about the traditional way of life of the villages that inhabit this area.

One of the most special moments of the hike will be visiting the Solar da Loquinha, an old traditional house where you'll relive the region's history of colonization. Here, we'll discuss the importance of preserving the local cultural heritage.

We'll continue toward the Antiguo Engenho de Farinha, a traditional flour mill that preserves the artisanal way of producing yuca flour. Here, you'll discover how this activity was crucial for the economy and identity of Costa da Lagoa for generations.

Our hike will take us to the heart of Costa da Lagoa, a picturesque fishing town only accessible by foot or boat. We'll stroll among colorful houses and shaded trails, enjoying the ambience that seems like it's stuck in time.

Then, we'll reach the famous waterfall of Costa da Lagoa, the ideal place to rest, cool off, and connect with nature. The waterfall, surrounded by native vegetation, is a picture-perfect spot. Want to take a dip?

Afterward, we'll head to a restaurant on the lagoon's shores. You'll be able to grab a bite to eat with dishes from the local cuisine, like fried fish, pirão, and salads made with fresh ingredients.

Finally, we'll hop on board a boat that connects Costa da Lagoa with Canto dos Araçás. This relaxing boat ride of about 30 minutes offers a different perspective of the environment to end this day full of discoveries in the best way.

We'll disembark at the same starting point, where we'll conclude this 7-hour activity.
