At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance of La Manuela estate, one of Pablo Escobar's most famous former properties, located on the shores of the Guatapé Reservoir. Are you ready to step into a site marked by luxury, violence, and Colombia's most recent history?
We'll start our visit by learning how this estate was built at the end of the 80s as a gift from Pablo Escobar to his daughter. This luxurious complex, which had piers, a pool, and recreational areas, was reduced to the ruins we see today after a dynamite attack in 1993. We'll tell you everything on this tour!
You'll also see the original spaces of the property, and we'll share many stories and anecdotes, which will help you better understand the impact this site had on the region of Antioquia.
After 1 hour, you can continue exploring the estate at your own pace.
Access to the Main House (1.5 Hours)
During the booking process, you can choose the option that includes access to the main house of La Manuela estate. In this case, we'll follow the itinerary previously described, and we'll go on a 15-minute guided tour of the main building, where you'll see Pablo Escobar's room and the bunkers.
This tour is conducted in a small group with a maximum of 15 people. To complete the experience, we'll also enjoy a tasting of a traditional liquor.
Guatapé Reservoir Boat Ride (3 Hours)
If you want to reach the estate in a different way, we recommend booking this option. In this case, we'll meet at the private pier of La Manuela. From here, we'll set sail to enjoy a boat ride through the Guatapé Reservoir with music on board.
For 20 minutes, we'll see the cross that resembles the old town of Peñol, today submerged underwater, and we'll pass the Casa Museo del Peñol, dedicated to its past inhabitants. We'll also see the luxurious houses of famous Colombian figures and enjoy privileged views of the imposing Rock of Guatapé from the water. You'll love it!
Lately, we'll disembark at La Manuela estate, where we'll follow the 1-hour tour previously described without accessing the main house. After the guided tour, you'll have approximately 1 hour to continue exploring the estate at your own pace.
Finally, we'll board the speedboat and say our goodbyes at the meeting point.
