Kuhniversum Trauffer Factory Museum Tickets
Why Visit Trauffer’s Kuhniversum?
With this admission to the Kuhniversum museum, you’ll visit the birthplace of Switzerland’s most iconic wooden toy: the red-spotted cow. Created by the Trauffer factory in 1938, these figures are made from local linden wood and are carved, polished, and painted by hand, becoming a symbol of Swiss craftsmanship, tradition, and quality.
During your visit, you’ll go behind the scenes to see how artisans cut, sand, and hand-paint each little cow. There are no mass industrial processes; each piece is unique, made exclusively with certified Swiss wood, ensuring environmentally responsible production that respects the Alpine surroundings.
In addition, the tour will allow you to learn about the legacy of three generations of the Trauffer family, from the founder Alfred to the current owner Marc Trauffer. You’ll have a great time!
Opening Hours
The Kuhniversum museum at the Trauffer toy factory is open everyday from 10 am to 6 pm. You can visit at any time within these opening hours.
