Museum of Natural Science in Houston

Located in the Houston Museum District, in front of Hermann Park, you'll find the Museum of Natural Science. Inaugurated at the beginning of the 20th century, this site receives over two million visitors per year.

Your ticket includes an audio guide in English to explore the various exhibitions, where you'll learn about dinosaurs, minerals, chemistry, and even the history of the different civilizations in the world. Visiting the Museum of Natural Science is the perfect plan for all ages, as the exhibitions are designed for all audiences.

Houston's Museum of Natural Science has 12 permanent exhibitions, among which the following stand out: 

  • Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. Hall: you'll learn about this philanthropist's passion for recreational fishing, his investigation, and his preservation of different marine species.
  • Matter & Motion: Quantum Chemistry to Astrophysics: the perfect place to learn about the newest discoveries scientists find every day.
  • The World Around Us: the most curious explorers will love this exhibition. You'll discover the most fascinating facts of the world, such as the differences between animal species, how the water cycle works, and which are the largest animals in the world.
  • Cockrell Butterfly Center: you'll explore a lively habitat filled with butterflies and enjoy these beautiful insects.

The Museum of Natural Science is open daily at the following times:

  • May 27 to August 10: 9 am to 6 pm
  • August 11 to May 26: Mondays to Thursdays from 9 am to 5 pm; Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am to 6 pm

Final admission is 30 minutes before the museum closes.
