Quilombola Community Visit & Tambaba Beach Tour
Activity Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in João Pessoa in an off-roading vehicle and head towards the Quilombola community of Mulheres Negras do Campo.
Upon arrival, we'll learn all about this Afro-descendant population dedicated to the cultivation of yams, cassava, and sweet potato. We'll learn about the origins of the members of this community and how they were brought as slave labour in the 16th century, up to the present day. We'll also see the planting techniques and the mills they use to make manioc flour, as well as taste the different homemade products made in the community.
Next, we'll visit the beach of Tambaba, the only nudist beach in northeastern Brazil. Would you like to take a dip in fresh and salt water? You can swim in this privileged site! If you don't want to be in the nudist area, we can take you to the more conventional part of this beach.
From here, we'll head to the Castelinho da Princesa viewpoint, where we'll have unbeatable views of the rock formations that give this stop its name. You won't be able to stop taking photos of this rocky fortress!
Afterward, we'll visit an area full of craft shops and local products, the perfect place to connect with the agricultural essence of this area. We'll also give you some free time to enjoy a traditional lunch cooked on a wood-burning stove. Bon appétit!
After lunch, we'll head to Praia da Coqueirinho, whose crystal-clear waters, golden sands, coconut trees, and surrounding cliffs will surely captivate you.
To put the finishing touch on this unforgettable day trip, we'll go to the Dedo de Deus viewpoint to admire the beaches of Coqueirinho and Tabatinga from a unique perspective.
Finally, we'll take you back to your hotel in João Pessoa and conclude the activity 10 hours later.
