Abyaneh Private Day Trip
Day Trip Details
After picking you up at your hotel in Kashan, we'll begin a journey of just under 1.5 hours to Abyaneh. Let's get started! Along the way, we'll pass through mountainous landscapes tinged with shades of ochre as we learn fascinating stories about ancient Persia, its trade routes, and Zoroastrian heritage.
Upon arrival, the image of Abyaneh will amaze you. Before our eyes, we'll admire a beautiful red village whose houses seem to merge with the mountain. We'll start a walking tour through its narrow alleys, where time seems to have stopped. We'll see some century-old houses built with adobe, as well as wooden roofs and balconies that resist the passage of centuries.
Gradually, we'll discover the rich history of the town by visiting places like the Jameh Mosque, with its impressive wooden mihrab of the 14th century, and the remains of the Fire Temple of Harpak, a vestige of the Zoroastrian era. We'll also ascend to an ancient Sassanid fortress, from where you will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the valley and the town, and pose for a photo!
In addition, during the tour, we'll have the opportunity to meet the locals of Abyaneh, easily recognizable by their traditional dress. The women wear white flowered scarves and colorful skirts, a tradition that has survived for generations.
We'll complete this experience with a stop at a handicraft store, where you can try a comforting wild thyme tea. If you wish, you can even have a traditional lunch, tasting dishes such as abgoosht, a typical Iranian stew of meat, potatoes, and beans, or kashke bademjan, a kind of delicious eggplant pâté.
In the afternoon, we'll leave Abyaneh behind and head back to Kashan, where we'll drop you off at your hotel about 8 hours later.
