Kazan Food Tour
Kazan Food Tour
At 1:30 pm, we'll meet in the central Tukaya Square. From here, we'll start a food tour of Russia's third largest city to learn about and taste Tatar cuisine, which shares lots of similarities with Bulgarian cuisine.
As we wander through the old town, you'll discover some typical dishes from Kazan. The variety of recipes is endless, although many of them include meat, grains and potatoes. In total, you'll taste the following 3 signature dishes:
- Zarkoe: A vegetable casserole with braised meat.
- Tabak Börek: Small dumplings stuffed with meat and cooked in a broth.
- Chebureki: Dumplings which are a popular snack among Russians and also eaten in Bulgaria and Turkey.
During our food tour, we'll also visit the places where important chapters of Russian history took place. Between courses, we'll discuss how Lenin planned the 1917 Revolution from Kazan. We'll also see the university where he studied as we talk about his link with the city's library.
We'll finish our tour at 3:30 pm near the Chak-Chak Museum and say our goodbyes. You can visit this museum after the tour or taste this delicious Tatar dessert.
