Free Walking Tour of Kiev
Free Walking Tour of Kiev
We'll meet our guide at 11 am at The Founders of Kyiv Monument in Maidan Square, sometimes referred to as Independence Square. This magnificent monument depicts the three brothers, Kyi, Schek and Khoryv, who according to legend were the founders of the medieval city of Kiev.
We'll then head to St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, a beautiful monastery on the banks of the Dnieper River that still functions today. We'll have the chance to head inside its spectacular cathedral and admire its jaw-dropping Byzantine and Baroque architecture.
Our next stop will be the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where we'll marvel at this magnificent building as we find out fascinating information about Ukraine's history at the hands of our guide.
Afterwards, we'll make our way to the beautiful Baroque St. Andrew's Church, built between 1747 and 1754 and located at the top of the Andriyivskyy Descent, followed by a visit to the biggest souvenir place in Ukraine!
Lastly, we'll pass by St. Sophia's Cathedral, Ukraine's first monument to be declared World Heritage, before heading to the spectacular Golden Gate, historically one of the main entrances to Kiev's 11th-century fortified city, and where our tour will end.
