Peñas Blancas River Raft Tour
Activity Details
After picking you up at your hotel in La Fortuna, we will set off on a 25-minute drive along Routes 142 and 141. During the journey, we will cross the mountainous Arenal region. Let our adventure in the Costa Rican jungle begin!
We will then arrive at the Peñas Blancas River, where, after a brief safety talk, we’ll board the rafts and begin gliding over the calm waters of this river. There will be no engines disturbing the environment, so we’ll only hear the murmur of the river and the splash of the paddles. We might even see and hear howler monkeys among the vegetation!
As we continue, with a keen eye we’ll spot toucans and other exotic birds from Central America hidden in the branches. If we’re lucky, we might see the watchful eyes of a crocodile on the riverbank or turtles sunbathing. Get your cameras ready!
During the navigation, which will last between 1 hour and 45 minutes and 2 hours, we’ll share interesting facts about the Peñas Blancas River and how the central region of Costa Rica holds great ecological importance for the country.
After the rafting trip, we’ll return to the starting point and head to the nearby restaurant La Cocina de Tita Yolanda, where we’ll enjoy a snack consisting of a tortilla with cheese, a plantain, and a coffee. We’ll also take this moment to learn about the chocolate-making process, ending with a well-deserved tasting.
Finally, we’ll begin the return trip to La Fortuna and drop you off at your hotel after a total of 4.5 hours of touring.
