On this day trip to La Gomera, we'll depart from southern Tenerife to discover the attractions of the second smallest island of the Canary Islands. As well as that, we'll do it in a small group!

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Port of Los Cristianos, in the south of Tenefire, and from there, we'll set sail in a ferry towards San Sebastián de La Gomera, the capital of the island.

The boat journey from Tenerife to La Gomera will take about 30 minutes. Upon arrival, we'll board a bus to begin exploring the island. For our first stop, we'll stop in the area of the ancient volcanoes and at the Roques viewpoint, where we'll observe the phenomenon of horizontal rain.

After this experience, we'll visit the Roque de Agando viewpoint, currently one of the symbols of La Gomera. Entering the Garajonay National Park, surrounded by vegetation, we'll discover the laurel forest ecosystem, an ancient subtropical forest that existed in the Jurassic era.

We'll continue our route outside the park, arriving at the village of Chipude, where you'll be able to taste some typical products of La Gomera such as almogrote cheese or wine on your own. You'll also have time to visit the church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria in the square.

Back on the bus, we'll continue the tour to El Cercado, where we'll visit the museum of typical pottery, where women continue to keep alive a tradition that is more than 500 years old. Finally, we'll arrive at the viewpoint of Valle Gran Rey to admire one of the most beautiful canyons of La Gomera.

We'll continue our route, passing through the village of Las Hayas, to go back within the park and make a stop at Laguna Grande. There, you'll have between 1 and 1.5 hours free for lunch in a typical restaurant. During lunch, you'll have the opportunity to experience the silbo gomero, the unique whistled language of the archipelago—you'll be fascinated! After lunch, we'll walk along a circular path to see the laurel forest up close.

The next stop will be at the Juego de Bolas Visitor's Centre to visit the House of Memory and even taste the best typical biscuits of La Gomera. Did you know that they are made with gofio? We'll return to San Sebastián, passing through the northern villages of Agulo and Hermigua, and enjoying their beautiful landscapes.

In the capital, you'll have about 45 minutes of free time. During this time, you'll be able to visit historical buildings linked to the passage of Christopher Columbus before his departure to the American continent, such as the Torre del Conde or Columbus' House.

Finally, we'll head back to Tenerife, where we'll arrive after 9.5 hours in total.
