Explore the Amazonian region of lago Acajatuba on this 4-day tour on the Rio Negro, where we'll meet a native community and go hiking in the jungle.

Trip Details

Day 1: Manaus - Lago Acajatuba

We'll meet at the Saint Paul Hotel in Manaus and, after breakfast, we'll head towards the banks of the Rio Negro by minibus. Once there, we'll hop into a canoe to sail towards an Amazonian community in the lago Acajatuba region of the Rio Negro.

Upon arrival, we'll be greeted with a typical lunch to refuel after the trip. Afterwards, we'll meet to go over the route information as we head back to the boat in the early afternoon. From the boat, we'll watch the sunset before enjoying dinner and relaxing in our communal accommodation.

Day 2: Lago Acajatuba

Good morning! We'll have breakfast and then head to the trailhead in the Amazon rainforest of the Lago Acajatuba region. There, we'll start a walking route where we'll discover the rich diversity of flora and fauna species characteristic of the Amazon. We'll also stop at a strategic point in the jungle to receive a nature survival course.

At the end, we'll enjoy lunch and a natural cosmetics workshop. We'll learn about the Amazonian ingredients used in the region for various skin products. In the evening, after dinner, we'll go out in canoes on the Rio Negro to stargaze—what a way to end the day!

Day 3: Lago Acajatuba

Before the sun rises, we'll head to the shore of the Rio Negro to board canoes and set sail to the point where we'll anchor to watch the sunrise—the perfect time to meditate!

We'll return to the community to enjoy breakfast and prepare for a journey to see porpoises. These small mammals inhabit the waters of the river near the coast. We'll learn all about their behaviour, feeding and mating.

Afterwards, we'll enjoy a hearty lunch before taking part in a handicraft workshop and paying a visit to the chelonian preservation project, a peculiar turtle with a wide shell. In the evening, after dinner, we'll get ready to learn how to dance carimbó and enjoy the local rhythms—the perfect end to the day!

Day 4: Lago Acajatuba - Manaus

After breakfast, we'll have a farewell talk in the community of Lago Acajatuba. At the end, we'll make our way back to Manaus via the Rio Negro.

Finally, we'll arrive at Manaus International Airport at around midday, where we'll say goodbye to you and you can board your flight.
