In this animal watching activity, you'll dive into the heart of Costa Rica's tropical jungle on an adventure that will take you to discover the incredible biodiveristy of the Manuel Antonio National Park.

Activity Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at the restaurant Donde Alex. Once we're all gathered, we'll walk a few minutes toward the entrance of the Manuel Antonio National Park.

This nature reserve has over 4,695 acres (1,900 hectares) of land and over 123,552 acres (50,000 hectares) of marine area, which makes it one of the places with most biodiversity in the world, with a spectacular combination of tropical jungle, beaches with crystal-clear water, and coral reefs.

With an expert guide and our optical equipment for animal watching, we'll start an easy walk along the trails in search of the different animals that inhabit this site, including 352 bird species, 109 mammal species, and a wide number of marine fauna.

During the activity, you'll observe two species of sloths, two-toed sloths and three-toed sloths; three species of monkeys, the Panamanian white-faced capuchin, the squirrel monkey, and the howler monkey; and many iguanas. Among the birds, the most common are the emerald toucanet, the green kingfisher, the Eurasian sparrowhawk, and the grey-cowled wood rail.

Finally, after 2 hours learning about Costa Rica's fauna and flora, we'll say our goodbyes at Manuel Antonio Beach, considered one of the best beaches in Central America, where you can continue enjoying the rest of the day.
