At the appointed time, we'll meet at Via Alessandro Volta 5 and set off on this sightseeing tour of Matera, where we'll pass by the main attractions of this beautiful city in the Basilicata region.
Throughout the tour, you'll be provided with an audio guide in Italian and English with commentary that will tell you about the history of Matera, as well as interesting information about the monuments you'll see.
Next, we'll pass by emblematic places like the Tramontano castle, located on the hill of Lapillo. We'll also see the church of San Agustino de Matera and the Belvedere Colombo viewpoint, from where we'll contemplate one of the best panoramic views of the city.
Our tour of Matera will also take us to Barisano, one of the famous Sassi of Matera. From the vehicle we'll see the buildings carved into the rock, such as the church of the Madonna delle Virtú or the church of San Pietro Caveoso, two of the most important places in this part of the city.
Afterward, we'll enter the Piccianello district to go to the Murgia Materana Park. We'll pass by the sculpture park La Palomba, a project derived from the artist Antonio Paradiso.
To put the finishing touch on the tour, we'll stop at an incredible viewpoint to admire the Gravina stream and the imposing Sassi of Matera from another perspective.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point after a 2-hour adventure.
