Chichén Itzá Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Starbucks in Hidalgo Park and board a vehicle heading towards Chichén Itzá. As we leave Mérida behind, we'll introduce you to the fascinating universe of Mayan culture, explaining its architecture, astronomical knowledge and the enigmas that still surround this ancient civilisation. You'll be amazed!
We'll arrive at the archaeological site of Chichén Itzá when the sun is still low and before the arrival of the big crowds. Undoubtedly, a privileged time that will allow us to visit the site calmly and enjoy its mystical atmosphere to the full.
For 1.5 hours, we'll take a guided tour to discover the most iconic constructions of Chichén Itzá. We'll admire the Temple of Kukulcan, the imposing stepped pyramid that served as a solar calendar and where, during the equinoxes, the shadow of a snake is cast down its steps.
We'll also visit the Temple of the Warriors, surrounded by a forest of columns representing ancient Mayan combatants, and loaded with religious and military symbolism.
Of course, we couldn't leave without seeing the majestic Ball Game, the largest in Mesoamerica, where the Maya people celebrated rituals and competitions with a deep spiritual meaning.
After the tour, you'll have 30 minutes of free time to explore the site at your leisure and take some unique photographs of this archaeological treasure—we'll give you recommendations to help you get the best shots!
Finally, we'll return to Mérida and say goodbye at the starting point after a total of 7 to 7.5 hours.
