Raccoon Island Kayak or Paddleboard Tour
Activity Details
We'll meet at the Bill Bird Marina, a popular port in Miami, where we'll go over the simple rules we'll need to follow during our trip. Also, when you arrive at the meeting point, please let the guide know whether you’d like to complete the trip paddling on a stand-up paddleboard or in a double kayak.
We’ll then get kitted out with all the necessary equipment and start paddling across Biscayne Bay. This tropical lagoon is located to the east of Miami and is surrounded by spectacular holiday complexes, luxury resorts, skyscrapers and artificial islands where some celebrities have homes.
Throughout the tour, we’ll discover all these sights as we head to Raccoon Island. This spot, also known as Sandspur Island, is famous for being home to a large colony of raccoons. Do you know why these animals live on the island? We'll find out soon enough!
Once on the island, you can snap some photos of the raccoons. As well as that, we'll refuel with some fresh fruit and mineral water. Whilst enjoying this snack, you'll be able to observe the animals up close, but always respecting their space, as if they become too stressed, they won’t approach you.
Finally, we’ll return to the stand-up paddleboard or kayak and paddle back to the meeting point, where we’ll conclude this 3-hour activity.
