Bosque dos Visitantes Tree Planting
Activity Details
The Cuban poet José Martí once defined three purposes that every person should fulfill at least once in their life: have a child, write a book, and… plant a tree! To accomplish the latter, we will meet at the Miranda bus station.
Inside the terminal, we'll discover the history of Bosque dos Visitantes, an ecotourism project dedicated to preserving native species of the Pantanal of Miranda, which are essential for the region’s environmental recovery.
After this introduction, we’ll explain how the planting will take place, and you’ll be able to choose which tree you would like to plant from the following varieties: ipê, carandá, aroeira, jacarandá, or other species, depending on the season.
Next, we’ll walk to the Bosque dos Visitantes, located just 50 meters (164 ft) behind the bus station. Once at the site, we’ll carry out the different stages of the planting process: digging the hole, properly placing the tree with its roots, and giving it its first watering.
Finally, we’ll celebrate together your participation in this environmental conservation project and return to the meeting point, where this 30- to 40-minute activity will come to an end.
