Gozzo Tour of Polignano a Mare Caves
Tour Details
We'll meet at the designated time at Molo Regina Margherita in Monopoli, and once we're ready, we'll hop onto a motorised gozzo —a traditional Italian fishing boat —to set sail and explore Pulia's coastline.
As we travel, we'll leave Monopoli behind and sail towards Polignano a Mare, a beautiful coastal town perched on a rocky cliff and surrounded by crystal-clear waters that hide sea caves of remarkable beauty. This coastline is a true feast for the eyes!
Our first stops will be at the famous Grotta Palazzese, known for housing an exclusive restaurant inside, and Lama Monachile, a natural cove featuring a pebbled beach, where each year the Red Bull Cliff Diving world champions undertake spectacular dives from the cliffs.
Afterwards, we'll continue onto Ermitaño Island or Isola dell'Ermita, a natural habitat for the Audouin's gull. Next, our route will take us to the Grotta degli Innamorati (Lovers Cave), whose idyllic scenery evokes pure romance.
Lastly, we'll pass by the Grotta Ardito, one of the many treasures hidden along the coast. Additionally, along the tour, we'll have a stop to enjoy a refreshing bath in Polignano a Mare's turquoise waters.
Aboard, we'll then raise a toast with a glass of prosecco, which will be paired with typical culinary products from Pulia, such as taralli and focaccia barese.
We'll conclude this boat ride back at the initial port after a total of 2.5 hours of sailing.
