Northern Lights 4 Day Tour
Northern Lights 4 Day Tour
Day 1
Having picked you up from the airport, we'll start exploring the Arctic Circle and begin with a sightseeing tour of Murmansk, the capital of the Russian Arctic.
During our visit, we'll learn about the history of this port city, which is closely linked to the Second World War. We'll pass by the Aloysha Monument dedicated to the Defenders of the Soviet Arctic, the Murmansk lighthouse and the Kursk atomic submarine.
It'll then be time for a lunch break at a local restaurant before we visit the famous Icebreaker Lenin, a museum ship where we'll learn more about the city's naval history. Our next stop will be at the Regional Museum of Local History, the oldest in this area, before checking in at the hotel. We'll reconvene in the evening to head out in search of the Northern Lights, one of the most incredible natural sights in the world.
Day 2
Rise and shine! After having breakfast, we'll head to the town of Teriberka on the Arctic coast. On the way there, we'll look out at the tundra landscapes around us. When we arrive, we'll explore the town and learn about its unique characteristics, such as the Oscar-nominated film that the town is famous for.
After having a break for lunch, we'll take a snowmobile sleigh ride - make sure you wrap up warm! We'll stop to see a beautiful waterfall that flows into the Arctic and then return to the hotel. In the evening, it'll be time to search for the Northern Lights if you didn't see them the day before.
Day 3
We'll get up early and have breakfast before heading to a Siberian Husky kennel. When we get there, we'll meet these friendly dogs and take a traditional husky sled ride.
Next, we'll have lunch and then head to one of the villages located this far north to discover this community's traditional Arctic way of life. Here, we'll have some tea, ride a sleigh and feed the reindeer and rabbits. In the evening, you'll have one last chance to try and see the magic of the Northern Lights.
Day 4
On the last day, we'll have breakfast and take you back to the airport in time for your flight.
Accommodation
This tour includes 3 nights' accommodation at the 4-star Azimut Múrmansk Hotel or something similar. The prices shown are per person in a double or single room.
Northern Lights
On one of the nights, we'll go out in search of one of the most impressive natural phenomena in the world: the Northern Lights. You'll choose which day you'd like to do this experience and the guide will give you their recommendations. As this is a natural phenomenon, it's impossible to guarantee that you'll see the Northern Lights. If the northern lights don't appear during the tour, you'll have another day of the tour to try to "catch" the Northern Lights.
Teriberka visit
Due to weather conditions, the road to the Arctic via Teriberka may be blocked by the authorities. Since this is the only way there, the tour may be postponed to another day or replaced by another activity.
