Tour of Graycliff Chocolatier
Tour Options
During the booking process to visit the Graycliff Chocolatier, you can choose two types of experiences. For both choices, we'll meet at the designated time at the factory's entrance, located on Hill Street.
Standard Tour (15 Minutes)
We'll begin this tour of Graycliff Chocolatier sharing the history of cacao's origins in the Bahamas. The events connected to this food and its discovery on the archipelago date back hundreds of years. Was cacao as sacred in the Caribbean as it was in Mesoamerica? What were its first uses? You'll learn interesting facts on this tour!
We'll explore the factory's facilities to learn all about the elaboration process of chocolate–from cacao seed roasting to the grinding process to it becoming a delicious treat for those with a sweet tooth. Are you ready to embark on a journey of flavors and aromas?
Of course, at the end of the tour, you'll be able to try two types of Graycliff chocolate. What a sweet ending!
Tour + Chocolate Workshop (1 Hour)
If you choose this tour option, you'll have the chance to enjoy the same tour previously described, but you'll also learn how to make your own chocolate in a fun way.
You'll put on the proper attire and enter the facilities, where we'll walk you through the process and techniques. Next, it's time to get to work! Once our molds are ready, you'll mix the chocolate with typical ingredients from the Bahamas.
You'll make chocolate bars, bonbons, truffles, and chocolate pops for cocktails. After this workshop in Graycliff Chocolatier, you'll feel like a real chocolate expert! The best part of this tour is that you'll taste your chocolate masterpieces. Delicious!
- Schedules: please note that the tour with the chocolate workshop is held every day at 9:45 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm.
