The Lion King Broadway Tickets
Show Details
When the young prince Simba is born, his evil uncle Scar loses his chance at becoming king, so Scar plans to kill Simba and his father, the King Mufasa, to claim the power. Simba survives, but Scar makes him believe that he is guilty of his father’s death, so Simba runs far away. When he comes back to the kingdom years later, Simba sees how the savannah has declined under his uncle’s power and decides to take what is rightfully his and confronts Scar.
The Lion King is based on the 1994 Oscar-winning Disney animated film with the same name. It's considered by many to be the best musical currently on Broadway and it has won six Tony Awards and an Evening Standard Award. It's New York’s best-selling musical since 1997. According to The New York Times: “There is simply nothing quite like it”.
Show Availability
Even though there are eight shows a week, The Lion King is the most popular musical on Broadway and tickets are quickly sold out. If you visit the Big Apple during the summer or Christmas, we recommend booking two months in advance.
Theatre Seating
The theatre allocates the best seats together that are available at the time of purchase - the earlier you book, the better! You can book the following tickets:
- Rear Orchestra (stalls): Rear refers to the seats at the back of a section, but which offer a full view of the stage. The Orchestra is the area on the ground floor or stalls (seating area), closest to the stage. It offers a direct view of the show.
- Front Mezzanine Seats: The Mezzanine area refers to the mezzanine, i.e. the first level above the Orchestra area. Ideal for viewing the entire stage and choreography. Therefore, Front Mezzanine seats are located at the front of the first floor.
- Premium Seats: seats located in the front row of the Mezzanine area.
- Seats with Reduced Visibility in the Stands (Rear Mezzanine): these are the last rows of the Mezzanine area.
