This vast body of water was created during the construction of the Luis Eduardo Magalhães Hydroelectric Plant, which took place between 1998 and 2002 in the municipalities of Miracema do Tocantins and Lajeado.
If there's one thing that makes Lake Palmas special, it's its unique colors, ranging from orange and pink to green hues, and the massive size of the sun, due to its proximity to the equator. This stunning natural spectacle can be admired during the dry season, which lasts from May to mid-September.
Did you know that Lake Palmas has one of the cleanest waters in Brazil? You'll feel truly blessed to have the chance to marvel at its landscapes with Serra de Lejeado in the background.
