Playa del Carmen Guided Walking Tour
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the ADO bus station to kick off this walking tour filled with history, flavors, and culture. Let's go!
Our first stop will be at the Plaza Fundadores, where we'll discuss the origin of the peninsula of Yucatán, the Maya cosmovision, and the stories that have shaped this region throughout time. It'll be the perfect start to contextualize the essence of the city.
Then, we'll head to La Tarraya, one of the most traditional restaurants in Playa del Carmen, which has been operating since the 1950s. Here, we'll listen to anecdotes of the local fishermen as we enjoy a craft beer from the region and try Tikin Xic, a Yucatán-style marinated fish. Delicious!
We'll continue walking along the streets of the center to discover the local architecture and visit some specific shops, such as Ah Cacao. In this establishment, you'll discover Mayan chocolate, inspired by the Prehispanic elaboration, as well as other popular products, like chewing gum. Of course, you'll enjoy a traditional chocolate tasting. You'll travel back in time with its flavor!
Our tour will take us to the famous Quinta Avenida, where we'll recommend places to enjoy the local nightlife, and then, we'll head to the intersection of Avenida 10 with Calle 6 to discover the local market. Here, you'll taste antojitos yucatecos and immerse yourself in the authentic Yucateco daily life.
Finally, we'll step into the Town Hall. In front of the Xaman Há mural, we'll give you a souvenir and the Kuxtal Xíimbal magazine, ideal for you to continue exploring Playa del Carmen at your own pace.
Here, we'll say our goodbyes after 2.5 hours.
