Policoro Archaeological Site Private Tour

We'll meet at the appointed time in Via Cristoforo Colombo and start our private tour of the archaeological area of Policoro. Ready to travel back to ancient times?

We'll start the guided tour by entering the Archaeological Museum of Siritide, where the most significant finds of the cities of Siris and Herakleia are kept. Ceramics, sacred statuettes, funerary offerings, jewellery, gold artefacts... you'll learn all about these fascinating objects!

Then we'll continue on to the Siris-Herakleia Archaeological Park. There we'll visit the acropolis of the ancient Greek colony of Herakleia and its urban sanctuaries dedicated to the cult of Dionysus and Demeter. It'll be like travelling back in time!

In fact Herakleia was founded on the ruins of another Magna Graecia settlement. This city was called Siris, and the remains of an adobe fortification and small sacred areas that we'll also see during the tour. 

After two and a half hours, we'll end the tour at the meeting point.
