Tour Details

At the scheduled time, we’ll meet on Rua de Passos Manuel to begin a walking tour through the historic heart of Porto. Ready to discover one of Portugal’s most charming cities?

Our first stop will be the Porto Cathedral, one of the city’s oldest and most important monuments. From the outside, we’ll admire its imposing structure and learn about the medieval origins of the city while enjoying views over the historic center and the Douro River.

Next, we’ll head to São Bento Station, widely considered one of the most beautiful train stations in Europe. We’ll admire the famous blue and white tile panels that illustrate key moments in Portuguese history, from royal ceremonies to scenes of everyday life.

We’ll then continue toward the Clérigos Tower, one of the most iconic landmarks in Porto. As we walk around the exterior of the complex, we’ll learn about its baroque architecture and the important role it has played in the city’s skyline for centuries.

A short stroll will bring us to the famous Lello Bookshop. From the outside, we’ll discover the story behind this legendary bookstore, known for its striking architecture and often linked to the magical atmosphere that inspired parts of the Harry Potter universe.

Our route will then take us through Praça da Liberdade and along Avenida dos Aliados, two of Porto’s most elegant and lively areas. Surrounded by grand historic buildings and bustling cafés, we’ll talk about the city’s political and social history while soaking up the atmosphere of modern Porto.

Continuing the tour, we’ll arrive at the Church of São Francisco. From the outside, we’ll admire its Gothic structure and hear about its famous baroque interior and the historic catacombs located beneath the church.

Finally, we’ll reach the Palácio da Bolsa, a magnificent 19th-century building that once served as the city’s stock exchange. Here we’ll learn about its architectural history and the importance it had for Porto’s commercial development.

After approximately 3 hours of finding out what makes this city so unique, we’ll say our goodbyes at this last point.
