History

Prague Castle, founded in the 9th century, has been a royal residence, seat of government, and centre of worship. Its iconic St. Vitus Cathedral showcases magnificent Gothic architecture. It was in the castle that the 'Defenestration of Prague' occurred in 1618, which is seen as one of the sparks of the Thirty Years' War.
