Tour Details

After meeting on Avenida Julio Argentino Roca, we'll hand out the bikes and helmets and run through a quick introduction before setting off on this bike tour from Puerto Madryn to Punta Este. Let's go!

We'll take the coastal promenade, with the first stretch of the route taking us through neighborhoods that look out over the ocean. Shortly after, we'll leave the tarmac behind and head into the Patagonian plateau. Gravel trails will open up through alpatacos, coirones, and piquillines, hardy local plants that have learned to thrive in the wind, sun, and aridity. Did you know some of these plants can survive on just a few millimeters of rain a year?

We'll arrive at Playa Paraná and stop for an hour by the sea for a snack. Right there lies the wreck of the Folías, a fishing vessel that has been grounded here since 1980. Its hull emerges at low tide, creating an almost ghostly sight. Many say the sound of the wind echoes like the whistles of the old sailors.

If we're visiting between May and December and luck is on our side, we might even spot whales from the shore while cormorants and petrels soar overhead. We'll then continue pedaling alongside sandstone cliffs toward the heart of Punta Este, descending to the beach to take in the vastness of the Golfo Nuevo before walking across the shifting dunes, home to a variety of shorebirds.

Finally, we'll head back to the meeting point, wrapping up the 3-hour route with our goodbyes.
