Sierra Madre Villages Food Tour
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from the meeting point and set off for the Sierra Madre. On our tour, we'll travel through charming mountain villages and learn about their varied gastronomy.
Our tour will begin with a visit to an organic cocoa farm, where the staff will show us how they make their delicious chocolate. We'll learn about the whole process, from the moment the bean is planted to when the chocolate makes it to the cup. After the demonstration, we'll taste the chocolate as it was eaten by the ancient Mayans.
Afterwards, we'll go to a local market and stock up on the fresh ingredients we'll use in our cooking class. During the class, you'll learn how to make some of the most well-known Mexican dishes, such as mole, tortillas, and different sauces.
Once we've finished our cooking class, we'll sit down to eat the dishes we've prepared for lunch. We'll also get a tasty beer to go with our meal. The cherry on top of this delicious experience will be a tequila and a mezcal tasting.
Next, we'll visit the picturesque villages of San Juan de Abajo and San Jose del Valle, where most of the products consumed in Riviera Nayarit come from. We'll see the beautiful scenery and architecture here and immerse ourselves in the local culture.
We'll then return to the starting point, where we'll arrive after a total of around 5 hours.
