Tequila Day Trip + José Cuervo Distillery Tour
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at the selected meeting point in Puerto Vallarta and set off to the fertile valleys of Jalisco, the birthplace of tequila. After 3 hours passing through mountain landscapes, we'll arrive at the agave fields to begin our adventure.
Here, you'll discover the traditional process of jimar, the artisanal technique used to harvest agave. We'll walk among the blueish plants as you admire the imposing silhouette of the Tequila Volcano. This scenery will take your breath away!
After 1 hour exploring the agave fields, our next stop will be at an artisanal distillery, where you'll be explained the stages of tequila production, from cooking the agave hearts to the double distillation process. Did you know tequila can only be made in specific regions in Mexico?
We'll then head to the heart of the town of Tequila after 1 hour. Here, you'll have 2 hours of free time to explore its colorful streets, visit specialized shops full of different brands of tequila, or try the cuisine at your own pace. Don't miss the Cleofas Mota Market!
In the afternoon, we'll go on a 45-minute guided tour of La Rojena, the legendary distillery of José Cuervo. We'll explore its facilities, discover its centuries-old history, and end with a tasting of its most iconic tequilas. You'll toast with centuries of tradition!
Before we return to Puerto Vallarta, you'll have 1 more hour of free time in Tequila. Finally, we'll begin our journey back and say our goodbyes at your hotel after 12 hours.
