Pula Free Tour

At the appointed time we'll kick off our free tour of Pula from Trg Forum. In this central city square, we'll admire the Town Hall building's exterior and the Temple of Augustus. Here, we'll learn why this temple was so highly revered by the ancient Romans!

Next, we'll stroll over to Pula Castle to enjoy the best views of this port city. From here, we'll pause in front of the Statue of James Joyce. You heard us right, the famed Irish writer has links with this area of Croatia, and on our tour, we'll find out which ones! Then, we'll pass under the Serbian Arch, which is no less than 2,000 years old.

Throughout our tour of Pula, we'll see other vestiges of antiquity, like the Twin and Hercules Gates. Right around the corner from these iconic arches, we'll contemplate the great monumental jewel of Istria. The Arena of Pula, a spectacular Roman amphitheater, whose appearance will surely remind you of the Colosseum in the Italian capital.

Finally, after a 2-hour tour, we'll conclude at Tito's Park, where we'll discuss Croatia's Yugoslav past and bring the experience to a close.
