Rabat Guided Walking Tour
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Kasbah of the Udayas, a UNESCO-declared military fortress in the mouth of the river of Bou Regreg. Ready to explore Rabat across centuries, from its Roman ruins to its royal palaces?
First, we'll stroll through the narrow, blue and white streets of the Kasbah. From here, we'll enjoy the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the neighboring city of Salé.
Next, we'll visit the Hassan Tower, an unfinished minaret dating back to the 12th century that stands as a symbol of ambition. Here, the majestic Mausoleum of Mohammed V awaits, which honors Morocco's royal history with its white marble and exquisite carvings. Did you know that over 400 Moroccan artists worked on its ornamentation?
Afterward, we'll make our way to the Royal Palace, also known as Dar al-Makhzen, the official residence of the King of Morocco. From the outside, we'll admire its impressive gates, vast courtyards, and ceremonial guards. You'll be amazed!
We'll then take a step back in time at the Roman city of Chellah, a medieval fortified Muslim necropolis and ancient archaeological site. Today, it's home to nesting storks. In this magical place, you'll take in the serene and mysterious atmosphere as you see how history and nature live side by side.
Finally, we'll enter the heart of the Old Medina of Rabat. As you explore its bustling streets filled with colorful shops and artisan crafts, you'll experience the local life of Rabat.
After 2 hours, we'll conclude our tour of the Moroccan capital at the restaurant Dar Rbatia.
