Rio Motorcycle Tour + Santa Marta Favela Visit
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the exit of the Siqueira Campos metro station in Copacabana. There, we'll hop on the motorcycle to begin an unforgettable tour of Rio de Janeiro's most iconic landmarks. Let's go!
Riding along Avenida Atlântica, Copacabana's famous seafront, we'll reach Leme Beach, where we'll stop to enjoy the spectacular ocean views from Mureta do Leme.
Next, we'll head to Praia Vermelha, in Urca, where you’ll be treated to a postcard-perfect view of Sugarloaf Mountain. We'll then continue the motorcycle route toward the Estácio de Sá Cultural Center, stopping for around 20 minutes to learn about the origins of the city.
Afterwards, we'll ride through Aterro do Flamengo Park until we reach the historic center. Here we'll stop to admire and learn about the history of the Municipal Theater, the National Library, and the surrounding buildings. You’ll also have time to take memorable photos at the colourful Selarón Steps and beneath the impressive Lapa Arches.
The next part of the tour takes us to Santa Teresa, one of Rio de Janeiro’s most charming and bohemian neighbourhoods. Its cobbled streets, historic mansions, and the famous yellow tram create a unique atmosphere. One of the highlights here is the Mirador dos Prazeres, offering stunning views over the city.
After exploring Santa Teresa, we'll continue to one of Rio's best-kept secrets: Mirador do Pedrão. From there, you can admire Sugarloaf Mountain, part of Guanabara Bay, and the vast Atlantic Ocean, framed by the city's urban life and surrounding mountains. Photo stop!
Next, we'll get off the motorcycle to take a walking tour through the iconic Santa Marta favela. With its privileged location, colorful alleyways, and vibrant energy, Santa Marta became world-famous after visits from various celebrities such as Madonna, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, and even heads of state.
The most memorable moment came in 1996, when Michael Jackson filmed the music video They Don’t Care About Us here. The pop icon danced at the top of the favela, helping turn Santa Marta into a symbol of resistance, culture, and community pride.
Finally, we'll head to Praça Corumbá, where the tour ends after approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.
