Konoko Falls & Green Grotto Caves Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Runaway Bay to begin this day trip to the Konoko Falls and the Green Grotto Caves. Ready? Let's go!
First, we'll head to the Green Grotto Caves, just 15 minutes away. Here, you'll have about 1.5 hours of free time to explore this impressive system of limestone caves with underground pools and unique rock formations at your own pace.
These caves were a refuge for the Taíno, Jamaica's first inhabitants, and the Spanish who were expelled from the island during the British invasion in the 17th century. As you walk around this fascinating site, you'll learn about the island's history and geology.
Afterward, we'll take you to Konoko Falls: a true haven of lush vegetation, spectacular waterfalls, and ideal trails for walking. The name Konoko comes from the Taíno word used to refer to a forest.
Here, you'll also have 1.5 hours of free time so you can visit the botanical garden, which boasts a wide variety of tropical flora. You'll also be able to take a refreshing dip in the natural pools and spot birds, like the Jamaican barn owl and mountain raven.
Then, before we return, we'll take you to a local restaurant, where you'll have 1 hour to grab a bite to eat a delicious dish of Jamaican cuisine.
Finally, we'll say our goodbyes at the starting point after 6.5 hours.
