Seven Lakes of the Fann Mountains Day Trip
Day Trip Details
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Samarkand and embark on a journey of just over an hour to the border with Tajikistan. Are you ready for an adventure?
After a brief stop for passport control, we'll continue our excursion to the city of Penjikent. Here, we'll discover the hustle and bustle of its mosque and bazaar before leaving you some free time to buy lunch.
Afterwards, we'll head to the Seven Lakes of the Fann Mountains, located at an altitude of 2,400 m (7,874 ft). Each lake has its own colour palette, ranging from emerald green to the deepest turquoise. And all of them, of course, are guarded by white peaks.
We'll travel by vehicle for about 15 km (9.3 mi) along pine-lined trails, which will take us to the Nezhigon, Soya, Gushor, Nofin, Khurdak, Marguzor and Hazorchashma lakes. We'll make brief stops at each one to take photos of their crystal-clear waters and listen to the enveloping murmur of nature.
At the last lake, Hazorchashma, we'll give you 1.5 hours of free time to have lunch with the Fann Mountains as a backdrop. You can also take advantage of this time to go hiking and take a dip in the icy waters of the lake. Are you brave enough?
In the evening, we'll return to Penjikent for a final 10-minute stroll through its souvenir shops before heading back to Samarkand.
We'll say our goodbyes back at your hotel in Samarkand after a total of 12 hours.
