Santa Ana Free Walking Tour
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the kiosk in the center of Parque Libertad to begin our free walking tour of Santa Ana. Ready to explore the city's lively streets, hear local stories, and visit its landmarks?
First, we'll head to the Santa Ana Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady Saint Anne, the perfect place for an introduction to the city's history and one of its most iconic landmarks. Then, we'll walk through the bustling streets of Santa Ana, filled with markets and local vendors, where, if you want, you can taste some seasonal fruits.
Afterward, we'll go to the Teatro Nacional de Santa Ana and admire its facade from the outside. Here, the guide will tell us about the theater's history. Did you know it was built thanks to a coffee elite who financed its construction? During the tour, you'll also learn about El Salvador's recent history, including the origins and decline of gang activity, and how it has transformed.
Our tour will continue toward the Mercado Central, a popular spot in the city. We'll learn about the history of the market, its past, and its role in Santa Ana's daily life.
Finally, we'll stop at a café, where you can enjoy the locally grown coffee from the Santa Ana region at your own pace. We'll end our free walking tour here after a total of 3 hours.
