Lagoa Amélia Hike
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Santo Tomé to begin this tour where we'll traverse the untouched forests of this island in the equatorial Atlantic.
Our destination will be Lagoa Amélia, an old lagoon which is sure to stun you. Do you know that it doesn't actually have any water? It's a crater from a volcano which then formed the island of Santo Tomé. Once there, we'll begin our hiking route around the area and will be told many interesting facts about the jungle that looms over us.
Walking around this location, we'll discover the origins of the island and admire the lush vegetation that surrounds us. The flora and fauna will certainly draw your attention as we continue walking. We'll even be able to see snakes, macaques and a great variety of birds.
As well as this, before bringing this trip to an end, we'll make a stop to grab a bite to eat at the Almada Negreiro Restaurant, where we'll enjoy a typical lunch in the middle of the jungle. The cherry on top of an already perfect day!
After 2 hours of hiking, we'll begin our return journey to Santo Tomé where we'll say our goodbyes.
