Seattle Boat Ride
Boat Ride Options
During the booking process of your boat ride around Seattle, you can opt for a tour of the port or a tour of the locks. In both cases, there will be an English-speaking guide on board who will explain everything you'll see from the boat.
Please read below the details for each tour:
Port of Seattle Boat Ride (1 Hour)
At the designated time, we'll set sail from Pier 55 to start this lovely boat ride around the port of Seattle.
Throughout the ride, you'll discover the history of one of the largest maritime terminals on the west coast of the United States, located on the shores of Elliott Bay.
From the boat, you'll admire some of the most emblematic monuments in Seattle, like the spectacular Space Needle, the Smith Tower, or the Olympic Sculpture Park.
Plus, as you sail around the port of Seattle, you'll see in the distance the peaks of the Cascade Range, the Olympic National Park, and Mount Rainier.
After 1 hour enjoying this boat ride, we'll conclude the journey by returning to the departure pier.
Ballard Locks of Seattle Boat Ride (2 Hours)
For this boat ride, you must choose between two starting points:
- Pier 54, located on the port of Seattle, on the shores of Elliott Bay
- AGC Marina, located next to Lake Union
Please note that if you opt for sailing from Pier 54, the boat ride will end at the AGC Marina, and vice versa, as we follow a circular boat itinerary. You'll be able to move between both locations on foot, by taxi, or on the sightseeing bus of Seattle, which is not included in the price of the boat ride.
The itinerary for both options of this tour will be the following:
At the designated time, we'll set sail from the chosen pier. From here, we'll sail toward the Ballard Locks. This complex of locks, named after the engineer Hiram M. Chittenden, connects Puget Sound with Lake Washington.
As this sound and the lake have different water levels, the locks let boats go up and down the sections. You'll see how these spectacular hydraulic constructions act like elevators for the boats in person!
Finally, we'll end this boat ride at Pier 54 (if you departed from the AGC Marina) or at the AGC Marina (if you departed from Pier 54).
